Man, I used to have one of those sitting around too. I'll look and see.

I know what your are talking about ..... but it will take and hour to fabricate the air cleaner intake .... and the stock powertrain will retired this spring for my 6BTA ... so it's not very important for my trying to find this rare piece. But thanks for the idea.
If i can have a great deal ... for sure i will installed it .... but since it may be just too much .... i will surely be going on the budget mod ..

Yeah, if you're swapping out the 230, I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it.

Here's a pic taken 5 minutes ago ..... the truck is now completed ... with working hydro winch, power steering , power brake , and a bus hot water heater. Now that's what it look like just after driving it in the snow ....
The madness will continue only this spring 2009 when uprading the stock 230 for a complete 6bta ram powertrain.
Merry Christmas ............

I have to ask, how does that thing do with only the stock 230 in it? I know you plan on eventually putting the 6BTA in it, I'm just curious how it drives like it is, lol.

just missing a lot of torque to move the truck around ..... up to 30mph it's OK but as you go faster you are missing power .... i can barely get 55 mph and dropped to 45 when going uphill on highway with the pedal on the floor. I never try it with the stock differential setup but i'm sure this thing is factory underpowered for high speed used ... so it should be about the same result . The factory size tire with the 5.87 of gear and now with 6.72 and 42" tires keep excacly the same ratio size for size ... i even verify the stock speedometer with a gps and it work like it should ... exact same speed.
The 6bta will be upgraded to around 700 pounds of torque .... so keeping a decent highway speed will not be longer a nightmare. Also the good steering geometry help a lot ... i dont' have any bumbsteer at all, 55 mph with one finger on the steering wheel even on bumpy roads.Perfect alignement between the draglink and differentiel anda also running 20 psi in the rear and 25 up front.
Hope this help ..........![]()
