I was going to work on the truck this weekend. Mother nature had other plans. Rain, Ice and up to 12+ inchs of snow in the state.
Live like you will die tomorrow. Dream like you will live forever!!!
The last year has flown by. I bought the truck from GSA on March 09, 2008 and picked it up march 25, 2008. It seems like I have done nothing to it.
But looking back I have acomplished alot.
Replaced all four wheel cylinders
Replaced all brake hoses
Upgraded to a dual M/C
Turned and trued the brake drums
Replaced the shoe linings
Replaced all wheel seals
Rebuilt the steering column
Changed the lube in the axles, hubs, transfer case
Repair the fuel tank
Removed "miles" of extra wiring
Repaired all the stock wiring
Replaced the Canon Plug on the 3 lever
Installed a turn signal switch
Removed some of the extra iron from the truck
Replaced the tailgate
Painted the exterior
Rolled it around the yard untold number of times.
Like I said not much work done........![]()

my truck had the exact same style bumper and running boards .
Well as usual there has been a change of plans. Due to my uncle's shop being full right now, the 4bt transplant in on hold.
So....................
Let's install an original engine that I was able to pickup from Combat32. I traded a Duece for an M715 parts truck and a M37. The 715 is really rough. The floor boards looks like swiss cheese and there isn't a straight piece of sheet metal on the truck. But the engine runs....
I had pulled the fenders off my truck for the 4bt install, so the 230 install was a snap.
Took my son-in-law for the first spin.
Think it will run???
Hey it starts....
here we go....
I hope I brought my phone......
Got Gas Masks?????
Down the road we go.....
I feel like I'm driving in NASCAR

Here is the finished product. It has a great 30ft paint job.....LOL
In the last week I reinstalled the sheetmetal. Rebuilt the carb. Removed and rebuilt the ignitor. Installed new points, condensor, coil, cap and rotor. The plugs are on backorder so I removed them and used the handheld plug sandblaster. That took care of the exhaust smoke.....LOL
This picture was taken on May 9th. Just an hour before I left for a parade.
I had only driven the truck less that a mile a couple of times in the last week.
The parade was 8 miles away. I was a LITTLE nervous about having the shakedown drive on the way to the parade....
The truck ran better than expected. I do need to fix an exhaust leak.
