Don't forget the proper tools to disassmble and hold the valves in place - you'll need a spring compressor and some way to keep the valves from dropping down into the head, I like using compressed air, some people like a piece of soft rope though the spark plug hole.

Air works but the rope is foolproof...take a soft rope and push it in through the spark plug hole until the cylinder is full...valve cant drop.

I know about the rope trick to fill up the combustion chamber and keep the valves closed but I've never tried it myself. Valve spring compressor shouldn't be a problem but again, I've only ever removed valve springs from heads sitting on a work bench. It will be a 'learning' experience once again. Can't get to the job for some time yet (fence to be built, bathroom to be improved, etc.). For now, I'll work on the stuck distributor.

A B Linn says the Tornado parts are "obsolete". Vintage M715 may have the parts <www.m715kaiserjeep.com>

I really appreciate the help from the M715 Zone people for this wretched civilian. Thank you!
