finally turned fire truck back into an army truck

With the help of my neighbor finally painted theM715 last weekend.
Still finishing up a few items, but ran it up to home depot last night to pick up some bolts and things. Will be adding decals from best soon. That is my son in the front seat, he wanted to go for the ride. He will get his license next year, we are already having conversations about whether he will be able to use the M715.

Looks good...got a few more things to paint I can see like the bolt heads on the passinger mirror. Just bolted it on before you ran to the store eh?...lol. The FD put one massive bumper on the front there....looks out of place on a M715.

yes, I just put the mirrors on so I could use it over the weekend, I have to paint them green as well. Not sure how to paint over the chrome.
I am involved in an American Cancer Society fund raser this weekend, 'Relay For Life'.
It takes place at the high school athletic fields Saturday night thru Sunday morning.
I have volunteered to help setup and clean up. I figure I might get to use the truck to facilitate both activities.
Front bumper is huge, they built storage compartments into it, so it comes in handy for chains, rope, etc.

I like the bumper. I would keep it. the more storage, the better

Gotta be better than the faded red over lime green over cammo over rust on mine. I like it. My son is 16 and wants to drive the truck all the time. I say, "You destroy that 97 Silverado-no biggie. You ruin this Kaiser and I'll have to KEEL you!!!" Fortunately, (sorta), I'm working on it now and it's not drivable. It should be back together this weekend and then I'm having elbow surgery on the 9th of July though, so he'll prolly get his wish since I won't be able to shift gears for a while.

I had a similar conversation with my son.
I tried to explain to him, you dent the fender on my regular pickup, I can get another pretty easy.
You crush the fender on my m715 it's going to be a problem.
I'm sure I will let him use it, just not as a daily driver, he is a good kid.
