Default Painted on the inner door panel...

Stripped the inner door panels and found something I haven't seen:

    Found - "NO SMOKING
    WHILE DRIVING"

    and "MAX SPEED 45
    MILES PER HOUR"

"No Smoking" was on the upper left quarter of the drivers side panel. "Max speed" was on the Bottom left quarter.

Hadn't seen these mentioned... anyone else find similar markings?

The truck was originally in service with the Army Signal Corps.

It's a common stencilling...not a standard across the board, but often done as a unit SOP. Sometimes the Max speed would be found on the dash.

Both are on mine only a bit different. "NO SMOKING" and "MAX 45 MPH"

Wow! You guys have the "high speed" models. Mine has "Max speed 30 MPH" right on the dash. (Which I routinely exceed, with no problems.)

    No prohibition on smoking.

    Default stenciling

    Hey,
    correct complete stenciling is:
    CITY MAX 30
    HIGHWAY MAX 50
    OTHERS MAX 45
    NO SMOKING
This was found on almost every M715 series truck in Germany.

It may hae been fond on German trucks but this was put on by the individual motor pools NOT as an Army standard. Mine has:

Max speed 60 MPH stencilled across the dash by the military.

There is no "correct" stencilling standard for the whole family of these trucks.
