    Default Dual fuel tanks

Sorry, one more question. My truck has dual fuel tanks. The stock one is supposed to be right behind the cab, in front of the fender, right? That one is there, but there is also one behind the fender on the same side with the fill tube sticking out nearly horizontal. This rear tank is the one that is hooked up to the fuel system (including the sending unit).

Has anybody seen one with dual tanks? There is no tank switch anywhere. How could I get them both hooked up including switching the sending unit. Would I need two switches, or does someone make a fuel+sending unit all-in-one switch?

    Thanks, again!!

    Sevral ways to do this:

Simple, put a sender in both tanks and run the wires to a double pole double throw switch somewhere in the cab. Each sender wire goes on the end of the switch and the middle wire goes to the gauge. Mark them front/rear and you can check the level all you want.

Run both fuel lines up the drives side frame rail. Buy one of those brass fuel valves and cut a hole in the floor under the drivers seat.

This way will cost about $30 and require about 2 hours to do if you work real slow and both tanks are full of fuel when you start.

Complex, get a fuel valve from an older Chevy or Ford dual tank truck. Figure out which wire goes where and which fuel line goes where, mount it up and then you will only have a single switch to throw and it will change the fuel and gauges at the same time. About the same time will be spent and a new Chevy unit in around $100 new.
Remember if you didn't build it you can't call it yours.

Thanks for the info. I had a CJ-5 with one of those brass selector valves, but nothing for the sending units.
