The Electrical Engineer in me wanted more detail in the wiring drawings that are out there. So, I created a CAD schematic of the 715 wiring. A schematic contains more detail then a wiring diagram. For instance, the internal connections and switching of the 3 lever and turn signal switch are shown as well as lamp numbers. You can see what happens for each switch position.
The schematic was created by reference to the drawings from Jon, BRUTE4C, the TM’s for the truck, the wiring sheets on the Zone, and TM-9-8000. The templates were obtained from a military CAD drawing for the M-35A2. Where discrepancies were found between the sources, my truck wiring was used to verify the connections and numbers.
Since the factory 715 used the distribution box for turn signals, wire numbers for the solid state conversion are arbitrary. I used numbers from TM-9-8000 which contains the standard for wiring numbers.
I don’t know how to distribute this. Can someone put it in the Download section? It is available in DWG or PDF from me also. As with all drawings, there may be some errors I missed. Perhaps we should have a few eyes take a look before posting?
