    Default Heated Seats...

Anyone thought about about heating the seats in their "m" ? Looks pretty simple and you could hide the switches so the stock look is there. Thought it might be an idea since the soft tops and lack of interiors keep these puppies pretty cold in the winter. From what I can tell, for about $89.00/seat, you could have a toasty ride. Cool thing about these inserts is you can put them under the leather,vinyl,canvas,etc... seat cover that you are already using.

    Anyone tried anything like this?

Just wire the two units in SERIES and they will be just fine on 24v. Both will be on at the same time. Same thing with two 12 volt windshield wiper motors running on 24v.

Some friends of mine used them in their Triumph ragtop. They work really well.

Heated seats!? Heated seats!? Why don't you just go buy yourself a Cadillac.

I'm seeing about having a friend reupholster a set of stock seats for me, and I'm seeing if he can throw in some seat heaters while he's at it. After being in a couple rigs with them, I've grown to like them. Plus, as you say, it gets darn cold in the 715 even with the heater on and what not.

My butt sweats enough as it is, thanks.

The only experience I have with heated seats is in the occasional rental car. I turn the passenger seat heater on without Dennis knowing and 10 minutes later he's trying to figure out why he's uncomfortably warm! It's a real gas....

I have aftermarket cj seats in my truck and I put seat heaters in them. When I worked at an auto upholstery shop we put alot of seat heaters in, both custom applications and oem (repair or upgrade). Pretty much any seat heater kit will work, they are all pretty universal, but the ones that use a carbon element instead of a wire element tend to work better (get warmer faster) and last longer, espically in the "rough" enviroment of M715's. Here is the web site of a company I have used before http://www.heatedseatkits.com/ I believe they even have a 24 volt model

I thought seat warmers were for wimps.

And then after an uneventful 2 day walk in wind and snow called an elk hunt, I tried the heated seats in my buddy's Tundra. I'm thinking I may need some in Ol' Smokey- gonz
