    Default Cab swap question

New here and looking for info...

I have come across an old M715 in pretty rough shape. I'm considering picking it up and doing a cab swap from a J truck. Any info on what years to look for? Are all the J truck cabs compatabe? I'n prefer to use the M715 fenders and grill and maybe swap in the 360 and auto while I'm at it. What T-case do these things use?

Sorry if thes questions have been asked before but I looked and couldn't find them...

I'm sure that all J-truck cabs are the same, with some minor diffances. I know starting 1980 they changed the frount cab mount, but the hole for the early mount are still there. The frount clip will bolt on,but I would use the civy core suport,it will use a bigger rad.

Tcase in the M715 stock is an NP200.

    The cabs do interchange.

the inner fender wells are different. I tried to use j-truck inner fender wells with my m715 and lower part by cab is different.

Sounds like he wants to use the M715 front clip on the J-truck cab. Anyone know if that bolts up right? Should be plug-n-play, eh?

m715 front clip will bolt on to j truck cab with the exception of the lower part of the m715 inner fender well. m715 inner fender well is made from two pieces spot welded together. J truck is one piece. Lower part of fender well is shaped different and cab to fender well mounting holes were different. (that is what I found when I tried it)

Could the outer M715 fenders, and grill be used on a J truck inner fenders, core support and cab?

They should fit. The cab I tried it on was a 74, they fit on it.

Looks like the difference in the cab is this part of the lower firewall that appears to be factory hacked to clear the wider wheel wells.
