Thread: Radial Tube Question

  1. #1

    Default Radial Tube Question

Where is anyone getting their radial tubes for the taller tires? Gonna put a set of 36" tall tires on and having problems finds the right tubes. The local tire shop had some, but they had the straight stems. I assume I need to stay with the angled stems?

Check this thread: Radial Tube Source for 11X16?

The same size tube is good for a tire between 34" (stock NTDs) up to XLs (38-1/2"), so it should work fine for you. And Rusty will know what valve stem you need.

If that is International Tube, they don't answer an e-mail (after 3 attempts in 2 weeks) and I can't seem to raise anyone on the phone there either.

I found my tubes and flaps locally.

I forgot the number but it is followed by a "c" denoting center. I think TR15C, but you may want to verify that. Also check the length. Many truck tubes are 5" and that's a bit long, as they stick out past the rim lip. You can bend them with a tube bender, but be careful if you do, they are soft and can break.

You can go with a radial tube in any tire, but don't use a bias ply tube in a radial. My tubes are radial tubes. Check your flaps too, to be sure they are clean, and rust free. I painted the inside of my rims with POR15 while they were apart to keep them nice and clean and make the install easier.
