Be careful not to under or oversize the pump. Perhaps someone else can recommend an appropriate level. For me, I have a 5psi pump feeding a 4 barrel holley that seems to work well.

This is the one I used:

I have had it on for about three years and no problems. Worked great with both the stock 230 and the chevy 292 that I have in there now.

Good question. I don't know the answer, but I would say "yes" based on the fact that they make a big deal about gas not lubricating the injector pump on an M35A2 well enough to run it for very long.

For the most part, a pump is a pump. Normally, gasoline parts are meant to be clamped to a hose while diesel parts are meant to be screwed into the fuel line. That makes a big difference in cost and quality of parts. Besides that though, just about any inline pump can be used for gas or diesel. Injection pumps are where the lubrication qualities of diesel are used by the way.

I have several inline electric fuel pumps intended for gasoline, we use around the shop and they pump a variety of liquids without any problems.

I have one that pumps parts washer fluid (mineral spirits) one that pumps ATF, and one that I use strictly for denatured alcohol when flushing brake systems. All of them are about 4-6 years old and so far have never failed. So I guess there really wouldn't be a problem using them for gas or diesel.
