The transmission, t-case and both axles take the same oil. The oil needs to meet GL-1 specs to satisfy the original specification for lubricant. GL-5 has now replaced GL-1 in the oil you find on the shelf.

The weight of the oil really depends on where you live. 80W-90, 90W-120 and just about any other combination you can find will all work as long as they are at least GL-1 rated.

I would suggest a trip to a tractor store such as TSC. Buy a 2-1/2 gallon bucket of oil along with the little pump that can be mounted on top of them. That will give you about two complete changes for the entire truck.

I would also suggest Permatex #2 gasket maker be smeared on both the drain and fill plug threads after you clean them real good.
Remember if you didn't build it you can't call it yours.

Mmmmmmm, save it for me, I am going totally original.

The joke here today was that we were going to let the air out of my original NDT spare, just to see what the air smelled like in 1967......now though, I may just keep it for someone else's original tires.....
