Thread: 1920 carb fuel bowl inlet baffle

Default 1920 carb fuel bowl inlet baffle

I recently dismantled my holley model 1920 carb (stock) for rebuild. Normally, there should be a baffle at the fuel inlet (inside the fuel bowl). Mine is gone, probably from a previous rebuild. Is this baffle a must for proper function?

if the fuel sloshes around to much it might keep the float from shutting off the needle valve properly id say. i imagine you could cut one out of some thin metal w tin snips if you had a pattern or perhaps someone here has some parts carb they can sell it out of

It is a needed part...especially if you drive offroad.

    Many thanks.

Yes I'm planning on using the truck 99% offroad so I'm thinking of fabricating one. I'll use a suitable plastic (PET, PC, PVDF PTFE or PES) depending on which I can find on my work bench...
