My engine on my kaiser will not stay running and when i give it gas it dies.
It will idle for about 30 seconds and die.

Sounds like crap in the fuel line/filter. When you hear hoofbeats, think horses not zebra's.
Sounds like an out of tune or plugged carburetor. Is this vehicle new to you, or has it been sitting for a long time, or was it running just fine one day and then all of a sudden started not running right?

Same issue on my new acquisition - mine turned out to be a stuck needle valve in the carb.
Pull the carb off - unscrew the (11/16ths) cap on the end by the fuel inlet and check the needle valve to make sure it moves. I used a bunch of carb cleaner on mine.
If the valve is sticking - it won't let fuel into the bowl.

Comps probably right, carb. Its def. fuel. I blew shop air thru my fuel lines reverse SLOWLY, theres a sock filter in the tank. CHECK the rubber lines at the tank and drivers side frame, there rotten.
The dieing when you open the throttle during the 30 seconds of run time is prolly due to the same issue of not enough fuel. Open throttle equal lots more air. w/o the increase in fuel, engine dies.
Does it die all by itself, or only when you open the throttle? If it is when you open the throttle, you could also have an open "ported" vacuum leak, . . only draws vacuum when you open the throttle, . then your basic vacuum leak, . .too much air.. . . .just a thought. . .good luck!
I was thinking accelerator pump too. When you pour gas into it, are you pouring it down the venturi or into the float bowl? Venturi only will just let it chug along and die. Float bowl will let it wind up a little before it runs out.
Remember if you didn't build it you can't call it yours.
