That would be great, I tried to figure it out but I guess the strap is smarter than I am!

Thank You a hunderd times! I looked at your pics, went and got my strap, put it just like the picture and it worked just like a charm.
Leave it to the military to design a strap that has two possible ways to attach and only one way works! I always had trouble with stuff like that when I was in.
Now, got any tips on how to secure the second tensioning bar on my Army cot? hahahaha Thanks Beast, T

I would be interested in the cot solution as well. I just always leave it hanging and put my head at the other end.

I like the pictured kind of gas can strap better than the aligator clip style. Even if it came unlatched, it looked like the can would still be secured some.
Remember if you didn't build it you can't call it yours.

Tim, I found them in a Military Surplus store and they listed them as "Strap, Gas Can, new style" I'm heading to that store this weekend as it is where the big Clare MI, vehicle show is. I think they were like $4 each.

No problem. I scratched my head at them the first time I went to mount them also. Then I looked and could see the wear marks on the buckle and it click to me that I had them 180.

I guess I got lucky and put mine on right the first time. I like the alligator clip version better.
