Default M724, M726 what are they?

I know the M715 and M725, but I've seen reference to the M724 and 726. What is the difference? A search on the net didn't reveal anything.....

I'm sure someone smarter than I will chime in soon. I think one is the cab and chassis model and the other is the maint. truck.

M724 is the chassis cab. Usually found with a 6217 contact maintenance box (welder/generator) on the back. Although I have seen pics of one with a regular bed.

M726 is the telephone maintenance truck. Has a tool box on the back but the top is open a rack for telephone poles. Very similar to modern telephone trucks.

Yeah, forgot about the phone truck.

I see. Funny, there seem to be NO pics of them anywhere on the net.
