Hey Folks, Shortround here. I'm new to this site so please bare with me. I live in central NC near Asheboro and the Uwharrie National Forest. In fact I helped build the hiking trail there back in the early 70's. I am recently retired from teaching and am taking autobody classes at RCC to do restorations. I have just built a new shop for doing this as well. I currently own 2 Mutts and yesterday bought a 715. I don't want this to sound like bragging so please don't take it that way, but I don't think the kid I bought it from had any idea what he had. It has always been kept inside and has no rust anywhere except the 2 front fender flares. It actually looks like it is only a couple of years old. It does have some small problems but it should be an easy frame off restore. I do need help in finding a good mechanic to rebuild the transmission due to difficulty in shifting into 1st gear. While I'm at it I also want to replace the clutch. The guy who does this should be a good mechanic and honest! This truck only has 8,000 actual miles but I want it to be factory new when done. I also need for some of you to tell about some sources for parts that sell NOS and are reliable. Last, I am interested in a weekend in the Uwharries and am willing to help any way I can. I would be happy to do some scouting or local legwork for the group and we could possibly use my place as a base garage for repairs if needed. I was actually thinking of doing this on my own for the NCMVPA before I found you guys. Please let me know what you think. Thanks for your thoughts! Mike/shortround
