    Default Hood support bumper number

I used to buy a lot of these. These would be the rubber mushroom head bumpers that slide over your adjustable bolt that holds the hood. Located in the valance right next to the brush guard outer top mounting bolt. They were difficult to locate this time and if you need them you should probably find a jeep dealer and order up. Waggies and J trucks use em to.

Hood bumper (insulator) Round # J0958556 Price $13.85 each 2 needed

Now I know this is not for a M715 (so shoot me) but if you have a CJ that needs new fixed hood bumpers that press into the top of the grille the number is

    #J5455348 Price 7.95 each 4 needed. 1972 and up.

You won't be able to get these unless aftermarket. I have not seen them yet.

Found a jeep part on your rig that has a number but Mr parts guy can't find it. Add a "J' in front of the number and that should help.

Whoa! This is freaky! I bought a replacement grille for my CJ about 10 years ago and I'm finally getting around to cleaning it up to paint it the color I think I want for my CJ (I'll test out how it looks on the grille and decide yea or nay). And I noticed I needed a set of those four rubber bumper things!

(I moved your second post to it's own thread in the Stock forum, Al.)

Regarding the CJ part, you must have tiny hands to get the backing piece into the bottom of the top-side of the grille above the headlights. My girl helped me out after I wasted 15 minutes with a long pair of needle-nose pliers. Of course, you may not need to replace those pieces, since they have a different part number anyway.

Also, use caution when tightening the screw, as I tightened mine a little too much and the rubber is already splitting out/cracking in 1 month's time.

Sweet!!! thanks. I've also been looking for that hood bumper that is on the back of the hood in the center. My hood vibrates at speed on the back. Thanks again!!

I can get all of the factory rubber I am posting about. I have another one I just found today. This is for the two 1 inch long or so bumpers or guides that go directly above your front tire into the top flange of the fender where it meets the fender skirt. These keep the hood from jiggling. Dealer number #JO963331 (2) needed. I have never seen any rubber bumpers used that did not look like they were new or even close. Every single used one I have found is also hard and cracked. I don't mind paying for soft good looking Rubber. I only use used parts if I can't find the part. But I am going for extreme sanitary. If it was my wheeler cool. But I strive for perfection on a ground up.

If anybody wants me to order more of these let me know I could probably arrange to have them sent to your door.

Better yet, for the ones I mention in this post #J0963331 (2) each

    North west Jeep Eagle
    1-503-646-5111

For the Mushroom hood bumper #J0958556 (2) each and the CJ hood bumper #J5455348 (4) each

    Hillsboro Chrysler Plymouth Jeep
    1-503-640-6500

NW Jeep could not find them because they upgraded (downgraded) away from their microfiche and these parts got left out. I have given NW jeep the part numbers from Hillsboro Jeep. Right hand left hand???

    I hope this helps.

And Thanks Tim T for moving my second post. Don't ask me what happened.

Why do you think they package them in groups of 5? You only need two, and even if you sold two more you're still left with one.
    Just curious I guess.

You are supposed to buy 10, use 2, and sell 8 so that you have no extras.
