Default Is there a USMC type canvas?

Was getting ready to order all my canvas, for my M-715, and started to think about it. I know there are different types for seats and tops. Just wondering if there was a certain type that was used by the Marines. I kind of doubt it, unless the Marines had there trucks painted in their USMC green while coming off the line at the plant, and not at there destinations. I guess it could happen if the different branches of the military ordered the trucks in batches so to speak.

I have not seen anything to suggest that the Marines had a different canvas than what came stock on the truck. I don't think you will go wrong in ordering a stock canvas for your truck. I don't think you would even loose points if you were getting it judged at an MVPA convention.

Yeah, and I think the reproduction canvas is slightly different in color/shade than NOS stuff too, from what I've seen. So it would probably be splitting hairs if there was any difference at all.

Get the repo canvas wet and some dirt and a large amount of canvac and it will look NOS...

Is that Canvac stuff what smells so bad? I just got the Deuce passenger seat covers from Mona at New Life Canvas and they smell just as bad as the top I got from Judith at New Life Resources and the stock seat covers I got at Weebee Webbing, before I learned of New Life.

I've been airing the covers out for DAYS, but they still stink up a storm.

(That said, I have to admit, I kind of like the smell!)

Some love it and some hate it. I love it for the first three or four good sniffs of fresh canvas. Then, I can live without it.
