Thread: Suspension Question?

  1. #1

    Question Suspension Question?

This is for you guys that are wheeling your trucks. To soften up the suspension are you using the stock spring packs and just removing some of the leaves or is it easier to convert to J-Truck springs? I am trying to get my plan down now so I don't waste time where it's not needed.

    Thanks

Forget the J truck springs...they dont fit.

Many have reported a big improvement from removing no more than 2 leaves per pack...usually the shortest and then skip one and then the next one.

Don't expect miracles - I removed 2 leaves from each rear spring pack and didn't notice much difference. It's still a rough riding pig. Also, I only lost 3/4" in ride height from removing the two leaves - there is no more sag than with the stock configuration.

I suggest keeping only the main leaf and experimenting with thinner secondary leaves of the same width to get what you're looking for.

I cut off some spring tails on my 725 and was pleased with the results. I was going for flex (I know, not in these things).
