    Default 14 bolt rear discs

Used the search feature and it helped quite a bit. I would like a pic of someone's setup though and maybe a little more detail of what it entails. I have a 75 chevy Dana 44 with 8 lug outers to use for parts. It seems there was some issue with locating the calipers due to spring interference. PaulC and Lee were discussing the mods, but I never really read a clear answer. Any Help?

I'm in the middle of my conversion and am making a M715 version conversion manual with pics and drawings etc.... lots of sites explain different ways.

Finding the parts that work and good deals is the hardest part. The cheapest brackets I found were from Shakerbuilt at $80.00. I was going to make a set of my own but found it easier to use someone elses. They have the hole size and spacing right and the spacers right for typical 3/4 ton Cheby discs and calipers.

For pictures of how Shaker did his see the following site. I will post some soon.

I'm cutting my spring perches off and moving them for the M715 width. I want the axle to look clean, and I like the thickness of the stock perches. There is plenty of room between the springs and Caliper brackets on my axle. It may be a different version axle.

    More to come....

OK, since it finally looks like I am going to knuckle under and go with modern axles, is this a must-do mod? I have no problem with drums on the rear, IF they will clear the 715 springs.

The drums from a 14 bolt will not clear the springs of the M715.... I hope I didn't confuse anyone... the disc break conversion of the 14 bolt will.

No confusion, that's exactly what I was looking for.

Anyone have a part number for a short 'flex' hose from the caliper to hard line that they've used?

    thanks,
    Jason
