Thread: 14 bolt spring perches?

    Default 14 bolt spring perches?

What are you 14 bolt swappers using for spring perches?

I know BTF makes some for a 3" wide spring on a 14bolt, but they have been REALLY slow to respond and fill orders lately.

    Thanks,
    Jason

Did made one set by myself (out of u-iron). The grinding is a little pita, otherwise no problem.

Now im too lazy and ordered some from greatlakesoffroad ... didnt receive them till now.

Did a little more looking around.

Found that these things have 2.5" springs, not 3.0". So, started looking for perches for a 2.5" spring and 3.25" axle tube.

Found that the MORE jeep cherokee 8.8 perches had those measurements.

Realized I still had one in stock on the shelve that we hadn't sold yet.

Cut the box open. Perches, plates, and u-bolts look perfect. Would make it run a single shear shock on the axle, but that shouldn't be an issue. Will probably weld them up soon. Will post the results.

The perches on mine were so thick, I used a radiac (angle grinder with cut off blade) to carefully cut them off and re use them. Time consuming, but the axle assembly looks like it is original. I am doing another this weekend (if the boss permits)... I will get pictures this time.
