    Default A few more things

I've got my vacuum wipers working. Is there an application for civvy wiper assemblies that will fit? Is there a # for the front crankshaft seal? Is there a good universal steering stabilizer available?

Not sure about Civvy, but here is this, Wipers. Whats wrong with your vacuum wipers? Thats one of the coolest things on the truck.

For the Crank seal....if you mean #29 in this pic:

    Then the factory numbers are:
    SEAL, FRONT, FILLER BLOCK
    FSN:2805-110-1974
    Reference Number:11657695

There is another seal that is behind the damper, a water excluder seal, unique to the mil engine I have been told. It is #8 in this image:

    SEAL, DAMPER
    Reference Number:11640881

It has no FSN of its own but is listed along with the damper, #7, as a set with these numbers:
    DAMPER AND SEAL ASSEMBLY
    FSN:3020-459-9745
    Reference Number:11657108

On the wipers, I'm keeping the motors. I need complete wiper blade assemblies compatible with the OEM arms.
I'm confused on the front seal. Is there a single piece lip seal in the front cover that the rear of the balancer passes through?

#8 in the second pic sits between the timing cover and damper so as to keep water out of the timing cover when fordng...thus the "water excluder" name.

#29 in the first pic is behind the timing cover.

I think I missed what you really wanted....the timing cover seal:

    #20 in this image:

    SEAL,CRANKSHAFT,TIMING COVER
    Reference Number:11640704

No FSN listed. Whether or not it interchanges with the civvy part, I dont know but due to the differences in the timing covers and cranks between the 2, I doubt it.

Item # 20 looks correct. Thanks Brute4c. Does anyone have a number for that seal like from C-R or National, or are dimensions available from a manual? Also, I'm still looking for wiper and stabilizer help.

There are no specs for that seal in the manuals...thats all I have on it unfortunately.

The steering stabilizer can be done like this:

The wiper blades...one of our members, jfnemt1ff1, posted this link to what he has done:

My website (www.bigscaryjeep.com) has a writeup about what wiper you can use with the stock wiper arm.

Thanks for the help folks. I'll get the wipers and stabilizer done right away. I guess I'll have to pull the dampener and look at the seal. I'll post any info I get.-TB
