Thread: Stuck Synchro?

    Default Stuck Synchro?

Every now and then when I'm slowing down and shifting from 3rd to 2nd, my T-98 doesn't want to shift into 2nd and I get gear grinding. I just have to back off, go back into 3rd and try it again. I'm assuming this is a problem with the synchros? Anyone else have this happen?

Mine used to do that if I tried to downshift from too great a speed without reving the engine a little.

What kind and how much gear oil in in the transmission? This could just be your "fill me back up" reminder from the T-98.
Remember if you didn't build it you can't call it yours.

I'm using 80W90 gear oil. Its to the fill line, I remember checking it one day before I headed out, and it did it later that day.
