Thread: Tire Questions

    Default Tire Questions

It is my understanding that a 38" tall tire will fit without modification on our trucks. With a 38" tire what would be the maximum width that will fit using the stock wheel?

Also, can we put any type/brand of tire on the stock rims as long as we use inner tubes?

I found some SSR's for sale locally. They didn't specify the width of the tire but did say it is mounted on 12 wide rims. Looking at a couple tire websites I think the tire width will be 15.5", which to me sounds like it wouldn't come close to working on our stock rims.

    Thanks for your help.

If you run a radial, you MUST run a radial tube.

You can mount a 13 inch wide 38 inch tall tire on the stock rim.

I just ordered a set of 38" high LAV military surplus tires for my rig. I have seen folks who have them on their -715 trucks, and it looks sharp!
