Are you talking about the markings? Like TP-45 or the markings on the bumper?

The number under the US Army is the vehicle registration number. It's the army's version of a license plate. It should be a Number letter four number combination like 2P 8447. It is the number that identifies that verhicle.

Actually it depends on what year your M715 is because the Army changed the registation numbering system while M715s were in production. 1967 M715s would have a number like Joe showed. Mine on my 67' is 3F 5836. But if your truck is a 68' or 69' the numbering would look like this 03F83668 with the last 2 numbers represnting the year of delivery. It is outlined pretty good in that article I linked above. Just remember that our trucks should always start with either 3 or 03 due to the weight class that they are.

I forgot about the weight class. 2P 8447 was the number on my M151 which is a 1/4 ton.
