    Default ok i give!!!

I have tried driving slower and finding different ways to work and every where else I have to go during the day and can't take it anymore. I am going to have to change gears or axles to make my truck better for daily use. Pulled in the drive last night and the trans. and t-case sounded like a bacon frying. I went to Randy's gear site and did some reading on diff. types and am leaning more towards 4.56 and lockers front and rear. I understand the lockers are not as good for fronts on dry pavement but I'm thinking of lockout hubs to ease the stress and tire wear. Not sure what it will all run me to have this done but if y'all have any ideas I'm all ears.

Going from 5.88 to 4.56 is a 23% drop in RPM's. For the kind of money you will be spending regearing, you could get a pair of modern axles, which would make you MUCH happier. I bought a 1990 Dodge 1 ton and after parting it, I ended up with a free D60/D70 pair

After writing that I started thinking, would a pair 1 tons from a 2001 dodge work. The dually I had a few years back had 4.10 and disc brakes just means I'll have to upgrade the mastercylinder now instead of later like I had planned.

Stock tires and 4.56 gears is like stock gears and 44.5 inch tall tires....
