We have this option that has been done:

And someone did do the one you mention but never followed up to say if or how it worked...

I "think" Danarchy was going to try that one, but he ended up selling the truck. Never heard for certain.

Well, I ordered one. The price has gone up to $129, though.

I'll be interested to hear. I'm a little unclear though. Is this an electronic ignition upgrade for the standard mil ignitor or a civ 12v dizzy?

I got a kit from 'Summit', PN:750-1700/1710, it's for a F*#d v-8, but is suppose to work. There is no way it's going into a 12v dist! If the kit you have fits, please post up as I would like to change over also.

    Default Pertronix Conversion

I did it and it works like a charm. See my earlier entry. Don't have the number handy and I do plan to provide pictures. Took some modification with a Dremel tool...not difficult. Used a coil with ballast built in. Has worked from the git-go. I've had some other problems that I have now fixed (carb stuff) so should be able to get pics soon. I would highly recommend it.

"I talked with a Pertronix tech rep today. The Pertronix part number 2561 is the conversion kit for the IAT 4416 10T distributor. I purchased one from CBS Performance in Colorado for $109.00 (company recommended by Pertronix: they have the units in stock). They pay shipping. The man with whom I spoke has installed this unit in our distributors and said there were no problems. When I receive the unit and get it installed, I will report back"

This was my original post re this conversion.
