Thread: M-725 spare tire

I asked the question because the M-725 that I am buying belonged to a guy who has since passed away. His daughter is the one selling the 725. When I contacted her, she told me that her dad had a bunch of parts in his garage, but she has no clue whats military and what isn't. So I was just wondering how many tires I should be looking for. Granted I'll go look in his garage to see what he has that goes with the 725, but just wondering if it could have come stock with a spare.

Also, I can't wait till I actually get the 725 to see exactly how different the underneath is from the 715. So I am already thinking about where I am going to put a spare, so I was just curious if I could fit one under there or not. Obviously I'll find out pretty soon.

Bringing a spare with me won't help much, since currently the front axle is out from underneath is. I'll be trailering it home, but it should prove interesting loading it.

The M725 and M715 are the same except for the box. The frame, running gear, front end are all the same. Even the cab floor and firewall are the same. The box mounts to the M715 floor around the edge and there is a plate that mounts the front clip to the windshield.

Here is a pic of an M725 on the assembly line without the ambulance alterations on it yet...the lack of a windshield or the mounts for one, no doors or bed...heck no back wall on the cab...sure looks like that is what this is:

As has been noted, the frame, suspension, drivetrain and the body stuff you see in the above pic are the same from the M715 to the M725. Whats missing in the above pic is whats different.

It came with two spares, didn't it? And a whole assortment of extra parts. Just ask any of these ice cream truck guys. They'll tell ya!

I get why you're asking now. Yeah, it would be tough to drive home without a front axle. Congrats on your catch, and have a safe trip dragging it home!
