Im having a set custom made from a spring shop on one truck and running rockwells. on the other one, 5 ton axles, four wheel steer, and a custom four link for articulation. that wont go into works until after my divorce is over and my shop is built.

willybad, like that truck!
yeah, that thing is a beast!
I did a Spring over on mine and a 4" block in the rear. Its high but i put 44" tractor tires on it. In my opinion its a great way to lift.
I did the spring over in front, and did the full shackle flip in back (moved both the front and rear mounts for the springs).
6 - 7" is more like what I got from my lift.
Then I pulled some spring leafs and lost maybe 1/2" to 1" of lift (if that, but it did lower slightly for me).
Just cleaning out all the old rust, gunk, and crud built up between the leafs will make a difference in how they ride/flex. Mine had a ton os stuff built up and did NOT want to flex at all!
Wire wheel and paint, and it flexed better. Taking out two leafs helped a lot as well.
All that being said, if you really want to change the ride, strip the spring hangers completely off. And put on relatively new designs that actually use rubber or poly bushings instead of BRASS bushings! This isn't hard to do, and you can buy the bracketry already made up really. Then use common springs from some newer chevy
