Dose anybodies run cool with a thermostat in? With a 180 thermostat, mine wouldn’t run above 160-165.

Default Thermostat Gasket - Updated Information

    Zoners,

I'm responding to this old post to update this information about a thermostat gasket. I researched the NAPA website and went to the NAPA dealer. He could not pull up any of the 3-hole gaskets I found. I called VPW and they had none. I searched the internet until I found this vendor website:

    http://www.quadratec.com/products/51204_02.htm

I called them and they were pretty sure this gasket would not fit our truck. They gave me the phone number of their supplier and suggested I talk to their technical department. They measured the hole spacing and, if he measured it accurately, it is an exact fit. I ordered two and I told them that if it fits, they may start getting lots of business from us. I gave them the URL of our website and they said they would check us out. So, when the gasket gets here, I'll update this post and we may have found a simple, $1.99 solution to our problem.

It's the same gasket as the M38A1 and early CJ-5's with the 134cid F head 4 cylinder engine.
