Thread: First Truck

    Default First Truck

I got my first M715 last weekend. The serial number is 30355 and the delivery date was 12-2-1968 (the date is kind of hard to read). It is a very clean rust free truck. It's painted the wrong color but the body is in excellent shape. It was a brush fire truck in South Dakota and had a big water tank in the back. The truck has just over 10,000 miles on it and it runs great!

I found it on www.jeeptruck.com. It was on an Indian reservation in Nebraska. The guy I bought it from also has a couple of 4 door dodge power wagons and a big military 6 wheel truck that looks pretty cool.

I posted a question on the psuedo zone about trailering/towing the jeep. I ended up using a silverado 2500 with a 16ft dual axle dovetail. I held it around 75-80mph for most of the trip. It worked great until the left rear trailer tire blew out and I realized that the truck I was borrowing didn't have a jack. I got it figure out though. Thanks for all of your advice on the truck/trailer combo.

First time posting pics. Hope it works alright.

Hey, welcome to the club! (Even if you didn't stop in and say hi when you rolled through Nebraska)

Good looking truck Jay! Did you ever get your brake problem fixed? Let me know if you need any help with parts (I got a FEW extra) or anything.

I used the same truck towing my last 715 home 2500 CCSB, but the only trailer I could get ahold of was ALOT shorter than that one, deck was about 4 feet shorter and neck of trailer was atleast a foot shorter, I couldn't get it any faster than 55-60 before the trailer started sweeping alot. Made the 200+ ride home a little rough.
