    Default My New Bumper

Thanks to those who have done this before me. I decided it was what I needed for a new bumper 7" channel.

I did something a little different, instead of using cone washers I used a piece of the channel with the thicker inside corner. I cut it to the proper sizes, drilled for the bolts and tack welded everything up with the bumper bolts loosely holding it in place.

The final welding of the tabs for spacers instead of cone washers.

The final product all painted and installed, now on to something else.

This was the view coming in from the shop this weekend, good weekend to build a bumper. I think I forgot to resize one picture, and hopefully I am figuring out how to post better pictures and text.

That is actually my neighbors house, my wife has the huge pole barn, I have a pole shop. Thanks, my welding abilities are getting better. I've had my truck longer than I've known how to weld.

Nice fix on the bumper spacing issue. I was lazy when I did mine and just stacked a few flat washers under it. It had a gap on the back due to the tapper, but i figure that it's solid enough not to worry about it.
