Thread: Dash removal?

  1. #1

    Default Dash removal?

What needs to be done to remove main front dash panel? I'm looking to some wire cleanup and vent work.

Is it just the front bolts?

I really regret not having a truck to go over and give you a good answer.
I also see there is nothing in any of the manuals that shows anything really helpful.

I took one out once...it seems there were support braces that were a pain to get at to get out but I am fuzzy on the details so many years later.

Hope someone else can give you good info...sorry I cant right now.

It's not too bad to do, but a lot of stuff.
Cap screws on front, some on each side, bolts holding steering column/pedal assembly to dash, and one brace rod. Must remove glove box and unplug everything from instrument cluster.

Thanks! The pictures will be super helpful. Hoping to get it all cleaned up and vents added over the winter.

Are you installing an original stock heater and
    defroster vents?

No, I have a self contained heater core and fan box that I'll be installing under the dash. I'll make some custom vents to attach on the inside.

    Thanks
I wish the photos were better, but these were taken during disassembly of my truck.
