Thread: Power Window

    Default Power Window

I ran a search and couldn't find anything, so delete this post if there is already one on it, but has anyone on here installed power windows in a M715? There was a video on YouTube with a M715 and power windows. I'd prefer to use factory Jeep parts.

    Thanks!

Years ago a kid named Ethan from Ft. Collins took the parts from a cherokee to make power windows. My Scary Jeep was his website but I'm not sure if it's still up or google saved copies of it. I would search that next. We always referred back to his page if people asked.

Couldnt you just take a complete Grand Wagoneer door remove the wing window & channel and put the M715 square wing and channel in its place? Same door, same mounts (give or take). You'd also get door locks to boot.

I have seen Big Scary Jeep's write-up on the door swap, but was hoping to just swap the tracks from a FSJ. Not ready for paint yet! It looks like there are some differences in model year, so was wondering if anyone knew which ones would work.

Somehow I missed getting Teking's post in here for a quote. This is in response to his door suggestion.

I thought FSJ doors would be a very easy swap. well they are when you add a bracket only found on the Mtruck doors. You can remove the wing window from the wag or J truck door, but when you put the M truck rectangular window in you need to weld in the bracket that is behind the hole in the upper part of the inner door skin. Up top there. That bracket holds the wing window and if you don't weld in a bracket, it won't hold the m truck wing window correctly. It will flop all over the place. I will detail this soon in my thread. And show a picture of a factory bracket and the twin I made next to it. And a pic of them welded in like the factory did. Anyway...
