Default NP200 transfer case shaft seal question

    Hello everyone,

I know this has most likely been beaten to death, but I need to replace the rear shaft oil seal. I am one of the lucky ones that has a transfer case that gets hot. I am planning to drain the case and replace the oil with 75-140 weight synthetic oil. And I hive seen a bunch of threads with numbers listed for the oil seal. But is there one of the oil seals that does better with high heats?

    Thanks

I dont know of any that are better for high heat...

I have heard that the redline shockproof 140W-250 works well for the tcase heat...one member who used it parked his truck on a side hill so the passenger side was low and the fill plug on the tcase was on the high side...then he stuffed it as full of lube as he could get.
I realize that overfills the case by quite a bit but he swore it worked very well.
