Thread: The longest build thread ever, at least it seems like it!

Patiently waiting for me to land somewhere. After losing two homes, one to not being able to insure, one to being out bid, I have an offer in on a place. The totes are all electrical parts and electrical tools. This is being stored at my mother in laws garage. I am looking forward to getting this thing on the road. Or maybe the trail would be a better statement.

I just kept praying to be near the outstanding church that builds me up. And it happened. So far so good. It is just taking a long time to settle out. Thanks Jon.

I have some bad news. I am going to terminate my photobucket account. I have 3500 pictures there and it is the majority of my tenure on the internet and displays the build threads and fun stuff over the last couple decades. I simply cannot tolerate the new terms and policies photobucket has put out. Selling my pictures to a third party for data collection is not OK with me. Using my pictures to measure and document biometric features to then turn it over to AI controlled data collection is not OK with me. This means my build thread will no longer have pictures. I hope to find a way to later reproduce my progress with this great truck and hopefully just do a new build thread with pictures. Till then I am not able to sit idle and allow the decline of the internet to include me. This was a very difficult decision.

Below is only a portion of the last terms and usage email from photobucket.

Updated information about the rights you grant us, including the right to the extent permitted by the laws of your region, to license or sell your Public User Uploaded Content to third parties for the scanning and processing of your Public User Uploaded Content, including extracting physical features, e.g. measurements, of your Biometric Information, solely for the purpose of artificial intelligence and machine learning training and the subsequent uses derived therefrom

    EDIT: From their link...

Biometric Information Definition: Biometric Information refers to data that depict or describe physical, biological, or behavioral traits, characteristics, or measurements of or relating to an identified or identifiable person’s body. Biometric Information includes, but is not limited to, depictions, images, descriptions, or recordings of an individual’s facial features, iris or retina, finger or handprints, voice, genetics, or characteristic movements or gestures (e.g., gait or typing pattern). Biometric Information also includes data derived from such depictions, images, descriptions, or recordings, to the extent that it would be reasonably possible to identify the person from whose information the data had been derived. By way of example, both a photograph of a person’s face and a facial recognition template, embedding, faceprint, or other data that encode measurements or characteristics of the face depicted in the photograph constitute Biometric Information. There are different definitions for biometric information, or biometric data, under different state laws. Within this Biometric Policy we generally adopt the Federal Trade Commission’s (“FTC”) definition.

I don?t blame you there. Do you have a means to download the photos to a drive, or are they already gone?
    Thanks, George

I intend to pick up a new thumb drive and see if I can save them all to it. I have thumb drives. They are packed away and I could not even start to know where they are. So I have about 40 days to opt out of their selling MY PICTURES I pay them to host, and measuring my face and how I walk. This includes everyone in my photo's or videos. But you need to delete the account. No problem and watch me get it done PB! I could reproduce my m715 build. I still have most all the pictures. But my 9 year insane build on IFSJA on my dear friends 1970 wagoneer will suffer because I don't have the early pictures from when I cut it all apart. I suspect I could find them, but it would be a challenge. Rebuilding that thread would take months. I may just say ... well it was fun while it lasted. And go outside and play. The internet was fun as heck for a long time. Bezos and some other things destroyed it. Obama signed it in while he was running things. I guess I could vent for a bit. But to answer your question, I think I can save them. I sure hope so anyway. I am going to find out.

I will try to have a solution by the end of August. I am about to start moving everything.. Funny I went by the new place. I drove further up the road. About a 1/8th mile up there is a hard top M715 sitting there with some other trucks. What are the chances?
