At the 2006 FE, PC gave me his carb intake and canister air filter from his truck since he wasn't going to use them.
I have mounted them on my 350 with a quadrajet carb.

That looks pretty good. Did you find an off the shelf filter to fit that housing like we talked about? Mid -'90's F-150 is kind of close I think.
Remember if you didn't build it you can't call it yours.

The stock filter was clean. Apparently PC never drove his truck much.
I haven't tried to locate a replacement filter yet. One issue is that the stock filter has the vanes to swirl the incoming air to remove water, dust, etc. I want to maintain that function so that plastic piece would have to be saved somehow.
that looks like the air filter housing on my massey furguson tractor. it's a 255 from the early 80's. my tractor that is.
PC, got it off a helicopter. He can probably be more specific tomorrow.
I was considering using an Airaid carburetor adaptor to adapt to the hood-mounted air cleaner. One item to figure out is the Airaid carburetor adaptor has a larger diameter inlet than the air cleaner. I will also need to find a good flexible hose to attach the two.

Haven't started the fabrication yet, but I would like to adapt inside of the hood mounted air cleaner for a K&N or similar filter.
What happened to the pictures in this post, Kwai?
Me three!
I didn't get a picture last weekend, but the housing was on the truck Kwai drove to the BMJP show. Let me describe it for you:
Round, sitting on top of the carb with a wing nut holding down. A hose was attached to a stock M715 hood mounted air filter canister and another hose attached to the valve cover vent.
That help?
Sorry, couldn't resist.
