Default Plastic accelerator pump cam casting

I have a good example of the Holly accelerator pump cam that breaks and was thinking of making a pattern mould so I could cast some replacements. Anyone have experience doing this?

Might be cheaper to get someone who can print it in 3d.

I have not seen them break on the carburetors that I have rebuilt and they came in the kits that I used. Maybe just me but I think they are still out there.

BTW, I have had good success with the NOS military kit as opposed to the aftermarket kits of the era. I believe my kit was dated 1974.

    JMO though...

I had that problem when I took the spacer out from under carb and mounted carb to governor to mount stock air filter housing , it seemed the governor opening was small then the spacer and carb flap hit it and I broke that piece , this may not be your problem but might help ya out

Every one I played with up here became broken...the one on my truck was broken when I bought it...found one on a junkyard motor, it broke a few years later...bought one from someone on the new, lasted 4 winters...so I bought a "rebuildable" carb from a guy...carb was pretty much junk...bowl was rusted solid...choke flap bent over on itself...etc...but the accelerator pump cam was good...

So I took it to a machine shop and had it copied in aluminum...

When I went to the 2 bbl carb setup, I sold the carb with the aluminum cam on it...eventually, when someone needed the stock plastic/nylon one I used to have the aluminum one made, I sold that...

They do break...I think it may be the extreme cold here in the winters at times...temps like -20 or colder...then 90's to 100 in the summer that eventually do them in...they do always seem to break in cold weather...
