Thread: Rear Tow Hook Question

  1. #1

    Question Rear Tow Hook Question

Do the brackets that bolt to the frame have spacers on the bolts like they do on the hubs? I've never seen one, so I don't know.

Probably need to look at that parts breakdown...

Actually the rears do use two spacers on the two outside bolts to match the height difference from where the inside bolts go through the bumperettes. There is a height difference of around a 1/4 inch or so and the spacers are really nothing more than thick washers.

Thanks. I'm having a little trouble visualizing that right now.

You can see where the bumperette bolts under the shackle mounts on the insides, this means you have to make up the thickness of the bumperette on the one side.

    Got it.

Thanks Dave. That'll need a thick spacer-- if I remember correctly, the bumperette is at least 1/4" thick.

    I'll check McMaster for one.

    Thanks one and all.

What size are those bolts so I can order some spacers?

The spacers are the same spacers that fit on the axle hub. The bolt size is the same as well.
