    When I swapped in the 350/700r4 I had to build a bracket for the lever assembly to mount to. Lots of others have done it and made it sound like no biggie... The bracket itself wasn't that hard but reassembling the levers and getting them positioned correctly was a nightmare... shoulda pulled the cab off for that..
    Thanks Von. Not being hung over would help a bunch.

    After pulling those levers, I really missed the M37 with its huge tunnel cover, and levers you unbolted from above, as an assembly. Couple minutes off, a couple minutes on.

    Wow. So they removed the levers and ALL the linkages then put a hose clamp on it to keep the coupling from moving around.

    so what exactly are we looking at? transfer case? front end? yeah I see the exhaust, but its on the wrong side of picture. just trying to find out how modified it is.

    must be back of transfer case. how goofy is that? and its holding up? yep I`m an idiot, but ..........

    Yeah, back. The missing levers controlled a fork that moved the slider on the coupling (now being immobilized by the clamp) that disconnected the rear driveshaft. Then the welder was driven off the other rear output of the transfer case.

    We finally got it running last week, and drove it about 30 ft., so I don't know how it'll hold up, although it must have worked through the truck's career as a firetruck.
