I picked up a case, but I cant get it to shift freely. Before I expend the effort to tear into it, can parts be had for this?
I saw some older posts on an IH forum, but the places that they referenced appear to be out of business

If You find an exploded parts view... Post it Please.
Should be that bearings are readily available, but the gears and shafts ?
I'm guessing seals will be able to be cross referenced.
DO You have the 10 bolt PTO port?
I have seen the TC's complete... but no parts individually specific to those cases.
The IH Guys and Dodge Guys use these cases.
There is one source I know sells the cases and probably has spare parts>

dont throw it away.. : )
I have these in my long term plans.
You should look into their history and strength...

Braden Cut sheets for the PTO that fits it:

old braden price list:

They used these cases on the old dodge power wagons, W series, and some IH 1100 series and other IH series Trucks,
With Braden Lu-4's
the PTO is an FTD-7 that fits the case.
Stronger than a np200 or np 205, with like 3/8 inch thicker shafts and gears.
Bomb proof
Will fit the E brake assembly from an np 200, with a slight modification of the output shaft "collar" or housing.
Fisherman HERE has some good pics and write ups, on the zone.
Search Fisherman's Posts then look for NP 202 E brake.
Most of the google pics are his as well..

I had 3 of these, sold 2 and kept one. It came with a parking brake setup on it. I also noticed that it has U joint yolks that use our trucks stock U joints, 1310 I think. I can get pics if it would help get your's set up.
"We are here for the meeting!"
from an old post here...
These are some part interchange numbers from an IH Truck.
It might help when searching for parts to call it an IH transfer case.
"Navistar" also known as International Harvester.... in Dallas, Texas ....on Irving Blvd.
has a parts dept... that I have walked into before and got what I needed for a '66 D-1100 PU.
I would think You will be in good shape to rebuild it.
like anything else 50 years old....
Its not gonna be auto zone or O rileys
The crossmember/ mount system... is gonna have to be fabbed up... even if You have the IH or Dodge crossmember... to retrofit an M 715.

According to my "Standard Catalog of 4x4's: 1945-1993," Fisherman's donor vehicle, a 1970 International Series 1100D pickup, only had one t'case offered by the factory and it is listed as a TC-141 with ratios of 1.93:1 and 1.00:1.
Does this make sense to anyone?
Edit: I love Google! Right off the bat, I answer my own question:
This from http://hometown.aol.com/eldonmcf/tcase.html
Transfer Cases used for other IH vehicles are:
TC-140, CODE 13140 = NEW PROCESS MODEL unknown
The TC-140 appears to be a pre 1960's model, and could be either a model 200, or 201.
The part number for the TC-140 transfer case assembly 148970R91 is replaced by 227639R91 which is the assembly number for the TC-141, NP 202 transfer case.
TC-141, CODE 13141 = NEW PROCESS MODEL 202
TC-142, CODE 13142 = NEW PROCESS MODEL 205

This is a 202 transfer case, uses the standard 2.125 seal, 410308 national if I remember right. From what I can tell this one came in right after the 201, which still had the break, but had a center rear output One way I remember is the top bolts come thru the case into the oil, so you need to use sealer on them. The case LuckyPabst posted is a 201 which has a rear bearing retainer all its own. Also, Bob cowan, I do have a couple factory crossmembers for these cases, call me if you need one.
