    Default Mechanical Fuel pump availability?

I've looked everywhere I can think of for either an Airtex 6510 or a carter m3561. No dice.

All of the typical car parts houses either have no listing for it or none in stock.

The few places that have a listing for it and let you add it to their cart don't have it in stock when you call them.

The only one of those two I've found has been on Amazon.ca (canada) and they won't ship to the USA.

Interestingly enough, I did find this when looking for "mechanical fuel pump"

    Spectra Premium SP1299MP
    http://www.amazon.com/Spectra-Premiu...ep%3Agladiator

According to amazon it will fit a 1965 jeep gladiator with 3.8 liter 1bbl carb

Is that right? It's pricey enough, but if it will work, I'll spring for it.

Failing that, any canadian 715zone members want to help me out with the amazon.ca one? I'll throw in some extra money for beer...

did you try the jeep places like Kaiserwillys.com or willysjeepparts.com?

did you check ebay. I think there was a stock fuel pump core. Get it and rebuild it. Advantage there is you have the vacuum ports needed to run the wipers. The pump you are looking at is single action and doesn't have a vacuum port.

    Thanks.

KaiserWillys shows something that might work, but it's a "call and ask" item. I'll ring them up tomorrow and see what they say.

Willysjeepparts shows this on their fuel pumps page

FUEL AND VACUUM PUMP, CARTER No. 3454 S.
    ALL OHC-6-230 SW/SD/PU
    $ 375.00

I did alot of searching on ebay, too. No dice.

Unfortunately, mine didn't come with a stock mechanical pump. At some point, a previous owner threw the stock pump out and bolted a plate over the opening.
