Default M715 Water Pump Pulley Removal

Has anyone removed the drive belt pulley from the M715 water pump? I have a NOS pump that doesn't have a pulley, and I need to use the pulley from my old water pump. The center of the pulley is tapped and threaded for a 5/16-18 bolt, which seems to be for a pusher bolt to get the darn pulley off the pump shaft. Or, ?
Anyone have experience removing the pulley?
    Thanks, Paul

yes you can do that, grade 8 bolt, grind the tip of the bolt a little, so if it mushrooms you don't muck up the threads when you remove the bolt from pully
