    Default Door window gaskets?

What is the current word on the availability of replacement window gaskets for the two windows on the M715's doors? I assume at this point anything NOS will be hard as a bullet and not worth trying?

I haven't tried to remove any glass, but it appears the gaskets may be in two pieces. A larger piece for the front (outside) and a smaller, thinner piece to lock or sandwich the glass in place from the back (inside).

Is something that BJ's offers appropriate?

Are you talking about the rubber that holds the glass in the frame or the seal around the door frame that the glass frame seals against? If the glass in the frame, any good auto glass shop can replace it. Mine did. If the weather seal, that is also around but I have to look where I got mine.

Thanks for asking for that clarification. Yes, I'm talking about the rubber that holds the glass in the door frame pieces.

It would be nice if we could pin down what should be used because a lot of glass shops do not stock what is needed to handle this kind of work, and don't see this kind of thing very often.

After alot of searching last winter, this is the closest thing that I found.
Very close, and it worked well.
For the bottom of the glass, to set it into the regulator channel

And for around the glass (top and sides)

Thank you Dan, and to clarify, did you use the same material for both the fixed window and the larger (retracting) window?

These rubber glass setting channels are for the retractable window.

Rubber for the fixed windows, I didn't search, as I needed new glass also.
I bought two NOS passenger side fixed windows, and removed one glass and rubber assembly ,and installed it into my drivers side frame after I had it sandblasted and painted.

Has anyone had any luck finding replacement seals for the fixed windows?

If you are talking about the rubber that goes around the glass in the fixed windows, I bought new entire windows. It came with new glass and they easily disassemble. I was only able to get one side but can use the glass in the other side but using one old frame. I can paint that and viola, two new glasses with new rubber, both sides.

Yeah, those are the pieces. My glass is actually good so I really only need the gasket. Already had my frames painted.

Seems to me that the windows were very cheap so if that is all that you can find, you could go that route. I will see if I can find them on the Internet, "italylovers", "AB Linn", etc.
