Thread: Just delivered 04/1968 M715

    Default Just delivered 04/1968 M715

The 7-ton trailer just delivered my new to me 1968. Have to read up on how to drive it properly but thanks to this website, I can avoid damaging it and making dumb mistakes. Jim's Jeep is delivering the fender blackout light for my weekend project.

Have to figure out why the light switch was replaced with a single knob pullout attached to a metal plate. Have to break out the wiring diagram to figure out what else on that circuit is awry.

Look forward to posting the updates needed to bring this to how it might have been configured when assigned to the Military. Thinking about over painting it with olive drab and basic USMC markings.

That truck looks great. I wouldn't paint it if it really is as good as it looks in the photos.

Your light switch could be from a 12 volt conversion. Mine is like that, and is a typical Fire Department mod.

It came off a farm in Virginia. As we do with all our old vehicles, our plans are to restore it as a driver with as much authenticity as possible. No garage queens but it should look like it was transported in time so if its been changed to 12v, I'll switch it back. Remove the radio in the battery box. Needs radios, winch and rear canvass. Then, would like it to join Patriot Riders on missions.

My truck is 2-68. Did you register your truck in the registry at the top of the page. If not please do. Truck looks great. We all need to hear more about it when you find the time.
What do all the toggles operate? Nice Christmas present!
Keep the photos coming, we love them here on the zone.
