    Default GMC 3500 axle

I read on the site that a 3500 dually van axles i "plug and play" on our trucks.....I assume a 3500 GMC dually pick up will also fit?

    Thanks!

I think its only the van dually rearends that fit. I think cab and chassis rearends are different than the pickup ones too.

They are the same width (dually, not C+C), but the spring perch width is more narrow on pickups.

not to sound dumb or anything... but what does a 3500 dually van look like? Is it the cargo truck? Yes, I used google.

I thought it was a '70's Chevy p30 step van that would fit. Also the CJ10 tug uses the same axle I think I read. I may be remembering wrong.

The G-Series van rear differential is the one you want. G-30's in particular. Not the dually like a P-series chassis used for step-vans, and motor homes, although it will work, but is slightly narrower. You'll need to ditch the drum brakes and do a disc conversion either way. As far as the year range, I don't know that definitively, but I know one when I see one.

Be sure you get a floating axle 10 bolt rear. Beware of the vans, because there were some 10 bolts in the mid 90's that were c-clip axles. Not full floaters. You can tell right away by looking at the pinion. If it bolts in the front of the housing, then it is the differential you want. If not, and it has no large hubs, then that one won't do you much good.
