!0,000, you have an early truck. Why don't you check it out using the Vin Registry. You should be able to narrow it down to the month.

    Default Frame serial number

I picked up a 715 last august, and am trying to figure out the serial number. The truck had been used as a dept of defense brushfire truck. All the data plates were missing. There is a on number plte, 3f-------, and i found the frame number, 11-78. I just cant make out the middle number. I had already sandblasted and painted the frame before i found it. any ideas on pulling the middle number?

The serial number is stamped on the frame in 2 locations.
Read this thread for the locations.

    Vehicle Serial Number Locations

Maybe the 2nd location is legible.

I think it is more like two possible locations. My truck has no SN on the front frame and the rear location is covered.
