Thread: Fan Belts

    Default Fan Belts

I am putting in a new radiator in my M725 and decided to replace the fan belts. I took the old ones off and they were all dried and cracked all the way through to the cords. After inspecting them I found that they were the original belts that came with the truck with the date December 1966 printed on the belts. I went to NAPA and since they couldn't get matched sets I had to order 3 single belts. Got them in today and installed them. You might need to check yours so you are not left stranded on the side of the road. The part# I used was NAPA 7420, the UPC is 0 29769 10355 5. So keep this for future reference if you need to.

    Default

I have two sets of matched belts (3 each) as spares. I got them from AB Linn and the price was very reasonable. Yes, they are old but in excellent condition.

    Default You Need Matched!!!

I got 3 belts way back when I bought the truck. They were NOT matched. They flopped around as some were a bit longer or shorter then the rest. Same as mentioned above by Don, I bought a matched set and problem solved.
