3.2 Beer. HMMMM, I remember that stuff. Had never heard of it until I went into the army.
My next exposure to it was in Colorado Springs. We were visiting my cousin's son at the Air Force Academy. We went to the grocery store and got some beer. When we were drinking it later in the day, something just wasn't right. I didn't seem the same. Two days later, my cousin's friend who was from the area worked for Coors. He told us that beer from the grocery store was 3.2. To get the "real" stuff, you had to go to the package store. He was right and when you looked carefully at the carton, it had 3.2 stenciled on the box; not part of the regular graphics. That was in 2003. I don't know if it still is the same.
Neat find!
3.2% beer was common in many places. West Virginia had it for years in these parts. They still may, but we always avoided buying our beer there for that reason!
It isn't as commonly known, but the military used to supply a fair amount of alcohol to the soldiers years ago. Canada stopped issuing their sailors a rum ration in the mid-70's.

I think they still have that 3.2 swill in Utah, if I'm not mistaken. Definitely a BYOB state....

Count Oklahoma as a BYOB state as well I've tasted water with more flavor......

If their's one thing the Army has, it's a form for everything! I could be wrong, but didn't the ball parks use to sell 3.2 beer?
